Procedures that can be carried out over the Internet

The immigration procedures that can be carried out on the Internet are listed below on the web pages of the various competent ministries:

  • Through this service you can request by Internet prior appointment for the presentation of applications to the offices of foreigners, for those procedures and offices in which this option is enabled (you will find a drop-down with the procedures and offices in which it is enabled)

  • Through this service you can access the immigration tax forms. If you have a digital certificate or electronic ID, you can make the payment and send the settlement online. If you do not have it, you can fill out and print the form for payment in a collaborating entity.

There are two tax forms on foreigners:

    • Rate 052: Processing of residence permits and other documentation to foreign citizens. Through this form you can pay the fees corresponding to authorizations of stay, residence and documentation, which corresponds to paying the foreign citizen.
    • Rate 062: Processing of work permits to foreign citizens. Through this form you can pay the fees corresponding to work authorizations, which is payable to the employer (except for self-employed work authorizations, where it is payable to the foreigner himself).

  • In this service you can consult the current state in which your authorization of foreigners is located (pending or resolved). To do this, you must indicate your NIE or your file number, as well as details of your application.

The information provided is purely informative and is limited to what state your file is in: pending or resolved. No notifications are made through this service.

The service is not available to citizens of the European Union and their relatives (they can check the status of their file in the office where their application was processed).

Be sure to enter the requested data correctly. If you do not find your file it may not have been recorded yet (if you have submitted your request recently) or any of the data entered may be erroneous. In any case, the immigration office can request information.

It is also possible to obtain information on the processing status of your file through the mobile phone, sending an SMS message (at no additional cost), following the instructions indicated

  • Through this service you can submit the srequest for your authorization. To do so, you must have a digital certificate or electronic ID card.

To access the system you must be on time to submit the application. That is, 60 days prior to or 90 days after the expiration date of your authorization.

  • This service allows you to attach documentation through the Internet in the files that you have in the process. To do this you need a digital certificate.

To do this, you must digitally sign, with your digital certificate, the documents you present, following the indications that the application will be giving you.

The presentation by this means has the same effects as the presentation in a public register. It’s important to print or save your proof of submission.

You also have a consultation access to check what documentation you have contributed and download the proof of the documents you have submitted.

  • If you have opted for this option or belong to one of the obligated groups when submitting an application for aliens, notifications of acts and resolutions on your file will be made available to you in the ede electronica of the Ministry of Finance and Public Administrations. To consult your notifications you must access, with your digital certificate or electronic ID, the section “my files” in the electronic headquarters.

    • What is a Notice of Appearance?

It consists of the receipt of communications and resolutions relating to applications submitted by him through the provision of such documents, in electronic format, at the electronic headquarters of the Ministry of Finance and Public Administrations (http://sede.mpt.gob.es), which the citizen can access, with his digital certificate or electronic ID.

    • At what point is the notification deemed to have been made?

When the citizen accesses the content of the notification, it is understood to be practiced. If you do not agree within 10 calendar days, the notification is deemed rejected and the procedure will continue and the deadlines for filing the corresponding appeals begin to be counted.

    • Who receives notifications through this medium?

Two types of interested parties will be notified in this way:

      • Those who have marked in the application model the consent to this type of notification.
      • Those who, although they have not given their consent, are obliged to receive notifications by this means, in accordance with Organic Law 4/2000: legal persons and certain groups by reason of their capacity (in particular: administrative managers, lawyers, social graduates and tax technicians).
    • Who can access the notification?

The notification is made to the holder of the NIF indicated in the section “domicile for the purposes of notifications” of the application model or, failing that, to the applicant. It can be accessed with a digital certificate corresponding to that NIF.

    • How can you check if I have a pending notification?

To consult your notifications you must access, with your digital certificate or electronic ID, the section “my files” in the electronic headquarters of the Ministry of Finance and Public Administrations (https://sede.administracionespublicas.gob.es/).

It is convenient that in the request model you fill in the fields “mobile phone” or “e-mail” so that an alert is sent to you when you have pending notifications.
