Processing times for alien proceedings (CORA)

The Report of the Commission for Administrative Reform (CORA), referring to the principles that inspire it, and within the framework of the Improvement of the efficiency of Public Administrations through the Implementation of the efficiency measurement system, announces that “the processing time of the procedures with greater impact on citizens, as well as variations in it, may be published on the web pages of the agencies.”

  • The measure of CORA, 0.00.001.0: Implementation of the productivity/efficiency measurement system has a first aspect of immediate implementation, which is the publication of the processing times of 10 of the procedures of the General Administration of the State most used by citizens and companies.

  • In execution of this measure, the General Secretariat of Immigration and Emigration publishes the average processing times and data relating to the resolution procedure of two of the immigration procedures, including the number of cases resolved in the month and the average time in each province and the totals.

It is necessary to clarify that the data of resolution times that are published, indicate exclusively the time elapsed between the presentation of the application and the resolution of the file. That is, the time that a file is in the process of being processed is not deducted unless the interested party provides any documentation.
